Scholarships & Grants

The Payette Lakes Progressive Club awards scholarships to local high school seniors and grants to nonprofits doing meaningful work in the McCall area. Use the sections below to learn more and submit your application.

Scholarships

Who can apply?

We encourage graduating seniors from McCall-Donnelly, Meadows Valley, and Heartland High Schools to apply. Whether you're heading to a four-year university, a two-year college, or a vocational or trade school, we want to help.

How scholarship funds may be used:

Scholarship funds can be applied to tuition only and are paid directly to your educational institution. Funds cannot be used for housing, books, or any other non-tuition expense. Students already receiving full-tuition coverage are not eligible.

What are the qualifications?

  • Graduating this year from McCall-Donnelly, Meadows Valley, or Heartland High School
  • Demonstrated leadership, service, and initiative in your community
  • No minimum GPA required, though academic performance is considered
  • Not already receiving full-tuition coverage

What do I need to submit?

  • Completed application (via the online form below)
  • Official high school transcript showing current coursework
  • Resume including education, employment, volunteer work, and extracurricular activities
  • One letter of recommendation from a high school staff member
  • One letter of recommendation from a community member or past employer
  • A 750-word essay addressing: your future educational and career goals; past experiences and interests that have shaped those goals; and how you respond to life and educational challenges

Grants

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from nonprofit organizations based in or serving McCall, Donnelly, Lake Fork, and New Meadows. Your project must align with at least one of our four core goals:

  • Promotion of education
  • Betterment of civic and public well-being
  • Support of youth activities
  • Beautification of our community

What we fund and what we don't:

We fund specific projects and programs. We do not fund employment compensation, accommodations, meals, or site rentals. Grant funds must be used before May 31 of the year following the award.

What happens after you receive a grant?

Grant recipients are required to submit a Grant Report no later than May 1 of the year following receipt of funds. If you need to redirect funds from the original purpose, contact us for approval first.

Grant Application Deadline: May 29, 2026. Grant checks will be issued in late August 2026.
